When you register a custom domain with Squarespace 5, you'll receive an email prompting you to verify ownership of your domain. Occasionally, you may receive requests to reverify.
Fine print: Verification is required per ICANN’s 2013 Registrar Accreditation Agreement.
Verify your domain
The email comes from customercare@squarespace.com and has the subject line "Please verify your domain name(s) as soon as possible." Click the link in the email to verify your domain and then click the Verify Information button after you've reviewed the information.
If you don't verify your domain from these emails within 15 days, your domain will be suspended.
If your domain is suspended
If you don't verify your domain within 15 days, it will be temporarily suspended. During this time, your domain won't connect to your Squarespace site, but you can still visit the site at its built-in domain.
Verify your custom domain from the verification email to reactivate it.
Resend the verification email
If you didn't receive the verification email, check the spam folder for the email address associated with your domain. This may be different than your account email.
If it's not there, contact us and we can resend it.
Messages go to your domain contact email
Changing your account email doesn't update the email address associated with your domain. All verification requests will go to the email address you used when you registered the domain. To update this, contact us so we can update it manually.
