Visitors can’t comment on my blog

To enable blog comments, visit Changing comment permissions.

If CAPTCHA is enabled on your blog, visitors currently aren't able to add comments. Our engineers are working to pinpoint the issue. Until it's resolved, we recommend you disable CAPTCHA.

To do this:

  1. Go to your Journal page and enter Structure mode.
  2. Click Configure This Page.
  3. Uncheck Enable CAPTCHA.

For detailed steps, visit Disabling CAPTCHA.

Disabling CAPTCHA increases the chances that your blog will receive spam comments. You can remove them with the Manage Comments area in your Website Management bar.

Note: Squarespace 5 is our legacy platform from 2012. Although we still support Squarespace 5, fixing bugs or issues is a lower priority for us while we focus on our current platform, Squarespace 7. Squarespace 7 has an improved blogging experience.
