My editor isn’t loading

The Squarespace 5 Content Editor sometimes isn’t available on Google Chrome or Safari.

This issue can occur in places like Manage Comments, Manage Posts, and File Storage. In these areas, when you click Edit you’ll see a “Content Editor is loading…” notification, but the editing box doesn’t appear.

Our engineers are working to pinpoint the issue, but until we find a solution, try the following steps:

  • Disable any browser add-ons or extensions.
  • Use Mozilla Firefox or an alternate browser.

Note: Squarespace 5 is our legacy platform from 2012. Although we still support Squarespace 5, fixing bugs or issues is a lower priority for us while we focus on our current platform, Squarespace 7. Squarespace 7 has an improved editing experience. Learn if moving to Squarespace 7 is right for you.
