How do I disable Extensions or Add-ons in my web browser?

Browser add-ons and extensions can provide some great additional functionality for your web browser, but some of them can interfere with the normal operation of your Squarespace website.  For this reason, our support staff may often ask you to disable your browser extensions if you are having issues working within your site.  This guide will provide steps to disable browser add-ons or extensions within most major browsers.

Google Chrome

Mac

  1. Click Chrome.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Extensions.
  4. Uncheck each extension where it says Enabled.

PC

  1. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Click Extensions.
  4. Uncheck each extension where it says Enabled.

Safari

  1. Click Safari.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Extensions.
  4. Slide the toggle to OFF.

Firefox

Mac

  1. Click Tools.
  2. Select Add-ons.
  3. Click Extensions.
  4. Click Disable next to each extension.

PC

  1. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Add-ons.
  3. Click Extensions.
  4. Click Disable next to each extension.

Internet Explorer

  1. Click the menu icon in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Manage add-ons.
  3. Click Toolbars and Extensions.
  4. Click an extension.
  5. Click Disable in the bottom-right corner.

Note: These instructions and images are for current stable versions of these browsers and their most recent operating systems.  If you are using a different operating system or browser version, these steps may differ slightly.
