Logging in

Note: It is no longer possible to create a trial site for Squarespace 5.

This page explains how to log into your Squarespace 5 site.

How to log in

To log in, navigate to http://username.squarespace.com/display/Login, replacing “username” with your unique identifier. Login must be capitalized.

Use your Squarespace 5 account name and password to log into your site. Your account name is the unique identifier from your URL. If your URL is http://username.squarespace.com, your account name is username.

Note: If you can’t log in:
  • Use your account name to log in, rather than an email address.
  • Log in at the URL listed above, rather than at www.squarespace.com.

Customized login page

Alternatively, you can create a login page with the Login Prompt page type. This allows you to customize the greeting message and display the page in your navigation. To learn more, visit Creating a login page.

Esc key shortcut

Log in from any page on your site by hitting the Esc key on your keyboard. If you’ve created a login page, that page will show. If not, it will take you to the dedicated login URL.

Logging out

To sign out of your site, click Logout in the top bar.

Member logins

Member accounts give a person or group of people special access to your website. To learn more, visit Creating member accounts.

Members log in with their unique login name and password, which you created when you set up the member account. They use the same login page or login URL that you use.

Note: Member logins are available in the Unlimited billing plan.

Password recovery

If you can't remember your password or need to reset it, click I Forgot My Password above the password field on the login page. A password recovery email will be sent automatically to the email address on file for your site.
