Country, language, and time zone

Use the options in the Date/Time Presentation section to adjust your site's regional settings.

  • Country - Use the drop-down menu to choose your country. If you choose United States, you can also choose a state.
  • Language - Select your language. This updates built-in dates, such as the dates on blog posts.
  • Time Zone - Choose your local time zone. This sets the publication time for updates to your site.
Note: Setting a language doesn't translate other areas of your site into that language. For help adding languages other than English to your site, visit our tips on creating a multilingual site.

Date and time format

Use the options in the Date/Time Presentation section to adjust how dates display on your site.

  • Long Date Format - Used for files, galleries, blog posts, and Change Tracker pages.
  • Medium Date Format - Used for blog post comments and Discussion page entries.
  • Short Date Format - Used in the Change Tracker sidebar widget.

For any of these, you can choose from a list of pre-formatted options, or click Custom to create your own format.

Tip: Your site language sets the day and month text.

Custom date formats

  • Repeating a symbol lengthens the component. For example, EEEE creates WednesdayEEE creates Wed.
  • To include text in your date format, add it between single quotation marks. For example: 'Date:'
