European Union (EU) laws require website owners to inform their visitors of cookies placed by their website and to receive visitors’ consent to use certain types of cookies.
Use this guide to create an EU cookie banner on your site with code.
Note: Adding code to your site is an advanced modification that falls outside of the scope of Squarespace support.
Add the cookie banner
- Click the Website Management bar and click Website Settings under Structure.
- Click Code Injection.
- Add this code:

- Click Update Information.
Note: EU cookie notice requirements vary depending on your location and cookie use. While we provide text you can use, you shouldn’t assume that it satisfies your particular legal requirements.
Change the display
To change where the banner displays on your site, replace the "top-left" in the code with any of these options:
- "top-right"
- "bottom-left"
- "bottom-right"
There aren't any other style or text adjustments available for this cookie banner.
